About this site

Hi there, and welcome to this little corner of the internet.

I’m Adrien: the human being who makes the art and runs the site. I built a career in the digital marketing field, a path which started as a scrappy way to pay off an appendectomy, and which gradually accumulated to extreme geekery in the arena of content strategy. But that’s just context.

What’s going on right here is both informed by and rebelling from that realm of thought. You could call it strategically unstrategic.

Human first, always

This website is not built to be experienced like a product or a sales funnel.

This is a website run by a human being, whose real life happens off the internet. I do not have a social media presence where you can follow me. What I have are the things I make and relationships I build without apps to moderate them.

A lot of my work is designed to be experienced in a living room (or similar) type of context, where it can be encountered often and integrated with other intentional items to create a space of engagement, curiosity, and home.

As such, the blog, which functions as the spine of this website, generally features one art piece at a time. No one is obligated to read whatever thoughts I feel compelled to dig into with each piece; however, inevitably, there will be many.

I have created thousands of art pieces and am often creating new ones, so there will be no shortage of work to peruse for those who stick around longer term.

Where you come in

I have left social media and there are no places to comment or “like” work on this site. However that doesn’t mean there are no ways for you to participate; consider the work on this site to be a variety of different invitations to engage with me on human terms.

Collectors may inquire about pieces via the contact form at the bottom of this page.

If you would like to get notified when I post a new art piece to the blog and have the opportunity to reply to what I post directly, you can subscribe here:

A few quick things to know

  • I only take a small number of commissions from folks who like and trust my work and style. Expect a vetting process of your inquiry if you would like to pursue a commissioned piece.
  • Prints and the like are rare but they do happen from time to time.
  • My studio is currently located at Make.Shift Art Space, a mighty community arts hub in beautiful downtown Bellingham, WA.
  • I am selectively open to collaborating with aligned others, particularly in a local and/or fundraising-for-a-good-cause type of context.
  • I also work to integrate my process into waste-conscious methods, with an aim of becoming fully regenerative. I often am open to receive art supply donations of items that might otherwise go to waste.
  • Prices on my work are likely to be lowest the sooner the inquiry is made, and can vary wildly. I do like to keep some work accessible to all, so I regularly make pieces here and there with the intent of keeping a low price point.
  • On the other hand, some of my prices may seem “ridiculously” high; I value what I do and sometimes that’s just the number it takes for me to be willing to part with something.

Peace,
Adrien
